Through this new Bond our partnership of churches and Christian organisations is seeking to raise £2m of social investment to support the mission of the church in some of the most deprived areas of London.
Due to the cost of housing in London, finding affordable rented homes for our workers and teams is now very difficult – it has become an obstacle to the church’s mission.
The Bond will enable us to purchase housing and provide decent rented homes – at below–market rents – to workers involved in church mission in some of the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods in London.
This will help us to recruit and retain workers and will enable them to live together in community in these areas.
Social Investment
Supporting the church’s mission in deprived communities in London
The Bond is seeking to raise £2m of social investment to enable our partnership to buy properties in London.
These homes will be rented out, at below–market levels, to some of our workers involved in mission in some of London’s most disadvantaged communities. The housing will enable us to maintain a living working presence in these areas, as we continue to grow churches and transform communities.
Social and financial returns
We are seeking investors, not just givers.
Investors in the Bond will receive a financial return, with fixed rates of interest paid annually. We are offering different fixed rates of interest over 3 and 5 year periods of time.
But the main return will be a social one, as the money that is invested is put to work in supporting ministries that are changing people’s lives in London.
How to support the bond
We accept investments of £5,000 or above. We are offering the following fixed rates of interest, payable annually:
| 5 Years: | 3 Years: |
|---|---|
| £15,000 or more: 2.00% | £15,000 or more: 1.25% |
| £5,000 – £14,999: 1.25% | £5,000 – £14,999: 1.00% |
This opportunity will be of interest to individuals, churches and Christian organisations.
The Bond is being issued in the form of fixed term, fixed interest unsecured loan stock by Affordable Christian Housing, an Industrial and Provident Society. This kind of investment is not suitable for all, and we recommend that you seek independent financial advice if you are in any doubt. We are not able to offer financial advice.
We are also pleased to accept gift–aid donations for those who wish to support us in that way.
